Insurance for your service family home
When you rent or own a home, you normally need buildings or contents insurance. But because you sign a Licence to Occupy Agreement, normal home insurance will not cover what you may owe to DIO Accommodation if something goes wrong. You need a different type of cover.
The Services Insurance and Investment Advisory Panel (SIIAP) lists companies that offer insurance made for Service Family Accommodation. You must arrange your own cover for at least £20,000.
