By law certain safety checks must be completed in your home to ensure it is safe for you and your family.
DIO’s maintenance contractors, Amey or VIVO, will do these jobs. This includes a gas safety check once a year. Sometimes they will visit to do safety checks, and an engineer might test a few things in your home. Other times they may need to do some work to make sure your home meets the law and is safe to live in.
Compulsory safety checks are vital, so if you receive an appointment, you must allow DIO’s contractors access to carry out the work/inspection.
If you cannot go to the planned appointment, or if you need information about a compulsory inspection, please contact DIO’s repair contractors.

DIO’s maintenance teams keep a record of the safety checks needed in each home. When it is time for a compulsory safety check in your home, you will be told 3 months before it happens. Most of the time this message will be sent by email, unless you have asked to be contacted in another way.
You do not need to book your compulsory safety check yourself. This will be arranged for you, and you will be contacted about 3 months before the visit is needed.

Yes. Before your appointment, you will get a reminder email that tells you the date and the time of your appointment.
Yes. These appointments are very important because the checks are required by law. If you are a serving person, you are allowed to take time off work for them. Just make sure you agree the appointment time with your Chain of Command.
