Damp & Mould - Pinnacle

Dealing with damp and mould

The Defence Infrastructure Organisation is taking steps to fix damp and mould problems, working with their repair teams, Amey and VIVO.

Preventing condensation, damp and mould

There are four simple ways to help stop condensation, damp and mould:

– Make less moisture in your home.
– Get rid of extra moisture.
– Keep your home warm.
– Let fresh air in.

This booklet will give you handy tips to help keep your home healthy.

If you find damp or mould while living in your home

Report it as soon as you can. You can:

– Fill in our Damp & Mould form below
– Call 0800 031 8628 (option 1, then option 4)
– Use the online chat on our Contact Us page

What happens next

– We’ll ask you some questions to understand how bad the problem is.
– We’ll ask you to send photos. If you can’t, a housing officer will come and take them.
– Amey or VIVO will contact you and may send a First Responder to visit your home. They might clean and treat the damp or mould and check how serious it is.
– They may also give you tips on how to stop damp and mould happening again.
– If the problem is very serious (which is rare), we may need to talk about moving you out.

In empty homes

If damp or mould is found while a home is being prepared, it will be fixed before anyone moves in.

If it can’t be fixed in time, the move‑in will not go ahead. This follows the move‑in standards.
